Liye brushed her hands together as she stepped back to survey the arena. It was round and made of metal, with a glass dome above it, and so big that a Red Death probably would've been able to turn around. Her dragon, Warmsight, huffed behind her. "What'd'ya think?" She asked him. As a response (or so she assumed) he jumped into the air, flying up high to study the dome. Liye giggled briefly, then heard growling and composed herself. "Warmsight!" She called. "They're here!" He soared down and took up his place next to her as the Junior Riders streamed in. Flipping her auburn braid behind her back, as it had been slung over her shoulder, she strode forward to meet them.
"Hello everyone! My name is Liye Neppen. You might have heard of me," she added with a grin. Back to business, she continued. "You may know that I'm the Head of the Academy. I'm also the Instructor of Dragons. You may be wondering what this class is. It's very simply about dragons! I see you all have yours," Liye waved to the array of beasts.
"We'll be learning about all types of Dragons. Today we're going to focus on the Snow Wraith. Warmsight here is a Snow Wraith, and we think he's the only one left. Hopefully not! Anyways, I'm going to teach some about Snow Wraiths, and then we'll see who was listening." Her grin returned. "Ready? Good.
"Snow Wraiths are Strike Class dragons, along with the Night Fury, Triple Stryke, Skrill, Deathgripper, Light Fury, and Night Light. The Snow Wraith is a dragon of mysteries. It blends in with the snow of its habitats and attacks in the middle of snowstorms, hence the name Snow Wraith. The name means 'snow ghost'. The Snow Wraith fires something much like a plasma blast, used by the Night Fury. Snow Wraiths have vision that is solely heat dependent, so if you were to set something on fire -could you-" she gestured to a student with a Monstrous Nightmare, who obliged and set a dummy left over from Blasting on fire. Warmsight stared at it. "So see, if it weren't for the smell, Warmsight wouldn't be able to tell the difference between me and that dummy." As an example, she pulled out a large cloth tarp from her bag, unfolded it, and secured it to his nose. He closed his eyes, and Liye walked over to stand next to the dummy. "Warmsight, come!" Liye called. He opened his eyes and stared from Liye to the dummy. Liye laughed, and he trotted over to her. Turning to the students while undying the tarp, she said "Now, any questions?"
(Please make a post with a question your character has. You have permission to have me in the post calling on you. I'll answer in my next post.)
Thank you for coming to Dragons!
